Welcome to the team: Abigail Bratcher
We are delighted to work with Artswork to welcome our new Trainee Producer Apprentice Abigail Bratcher to our team! Abi will be working with our team on a variety of our upcoming projects, learning the ropes of what it means to be a Producer in the world of opera. We caught up with Abi to learn more about her interests and what she’s most excited about the role!
"I have always been someone who grew up loving art and drama, knowing that I wanted to pursue a career in the Arts industry. I have always found I am particularly skilled when it comes to drawing and expressing myself through art, including designing my own tattoos.
I had always kept an eye open for different jobs surrounding Art and Theatre, and by expressing my passion and interest to this role, I was then chosen to be an Apprentice Producer with OperaUpClose. Alongside them, I will be working individually with Artswork on my apprentice coursework over the next 15 months, which will earn me a Level 3 Event Assistant qualification upon completion. I felt that working with OperaUpClose as a company was an amazing opportunity to gain some experience behind the scenes in theatre. On top of that, by learning and working with different people in different areas of expertise, I will be able to broaden my skills and understanding of the business behind the productions.
I have always been inspired by different expressions of emotion through art and theatre, and how it allows people to join as a community to appreciate and perceive art in any shape or form as they will. This is one of the many reasons why I am so excited to be working on upcoming projects with the rest of the team here at OperaUpClose, helping with day to day tasks and necessities, and expanding my knowledge that will be beneficial to me in the foreseeable future.”
